New Reprints

Joseph Bloch over on the Greyhawk Grognard has posted that Wizards are doing 2nd edition AD&D reprints.  Of greater interest to me are the hardcover releases of The Slaver series (A1-4) and the S series (S1-4). I will probably definitely get those.

Rules Cyclopedia ain't far behind at this rate! I'll even take perfect bound copies of each individual BECMI box set! Looks like Wizards may have gotten the prescription to fix their cranial-rectal inversion.

Credit where it's due. I first heard about it from Jason Paul McCartan on Google+.

My guess would be the Giants/Drow adventures would be coming as well, maybe ToEE.

Are those actually 2e?

I have the A1-4 series book, and it's 1st edition for sure. I got off the AD&D ride before 2e and I ran the A1-4 compilation at least once in 1st edition.

S1-4, the combined version ("Realms of Horror"), I also have - it's also 1e.

Unless they were updated and re-released and I missed it . . .

The rulebooks they're reprinting are the 2E books. The adventures they're reprinting were originally 1E, and I doubt they'd upgrade them.

Everyone has commented on the reprint of the rules. I think the bigger story is the adventure/module reprints. Considering the focus of D&D Next is a sort of one game to rule them all, i'm willing to bet that we'll get our first look at how this will be handled in the A and Series. As the major rulesets will all be out by then - save BECMI and OD&D
